A Dark Past in a Lovely Hotel

The original hotel, built in 1926, burned to the ground and was rebuilt in its classical charm in 1938, making it 71 years old this year. Although not the oldest hotel in Florida, the Clewiston Inn has seen its share of good times, as well as bad. Paranormal investigation teams that have visited the hotel in the past have uncovered reminders of those troubles, which include 5 verifiable deaths within it's walls. Some of these deaths aren't your typical deaths either.

The Old Lady There is a room on the 2nd floor of the hotel that once served as a temporary residence to an elderly lady. Long story short, she passed away in that room under unknown circumstances (presumably a heart attack) and her body wasn't discovered until 4 days later.   Imagine the stench of a rotting body, in a sweltering, closed up room on a 90 degree Florida stretch?   It is said, that guests staying in that room experience unusual events to this day, which include rotting odors, malfunctioning telephones, whispers and more.   The real "Hells Kitchen"? There have been 3 deaths in the kitchen hotel as well. One of them is "The angry chef", another victim of a brutal stabbing and the last, a man who hung himself in the kitchen pantry.

Many other parts of the Clewiston Inn have been the setting for supernatural experiences. These include the common areas, lobby, dinning hall, bar and outdoor grounds as well.
